DR. JOHN J. IANNITTO JOINS APPLETON EYE ASSOCIATES IN HAMILTON

Dr. Iannitto Brings Over
30 Years of Experience to New Practice

We are pleased to announce that Dr. John J. Iannitto, O.D., has recently joined Appleton Eye Associates and he is currently treating patients in our South Hamilton location. Dr. Iannitto, who has been practicing optometry on the north shore of Massachusetts for more than 30 years, joined the Appleton team in November 2020.

In 1988, he founded Dr. John J. Iannitto and Associates in Peabody where he quickly established a reputation for his thorough eye exams, contact lens expertise, and for making precise prescriptions for patients. In 1999, he joined a Danvers-based optometry practice where his extensive following of loyal patients in the area helped drive the success of the business.

When asked to describe what he likes most about the job, Dr. Iannitto said his priorities are centered on the vision needs of his patients and making sure that they look forward to returning to see him in the future.

“It’s important to me to measure people’s vision precisely and to listen to what their visual needs are, and then do my best to meet those needs,” Dr. Iannitto said. “I really enjoy creating relationships with patients that will make them come back again and again.”

In addition to his more recent experience, Dr. Iannitto completed a residency in low vision and primary care optometry at the Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic in Boston. He received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and his Doctor of Optometry degree from The New England College of Optometry (NEWENCO). While a student at NEWENCO, he was awarded the college’s Alumni Scholarship as well as the Bausch and Lomb Award for outstanding proficiency as a contact lens clinician.

An accomplished saxophonist, Dr. Iannitto is a member of the Ipswich Summer Band and he is also a featured musician in appearances by other local bands. A longtime resident of Ipswich, he enjoys playing golf and kayaking with his wife, Susan, as well as spending time with the couple’s family and friends.
