GET AN EYE EXAM TODAY
Every October, the team at Appleton Eye Associates is proud to join the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) in promoting World Sight Day. In recognition of World Sight Day on Thursday, October 14, we encourage everyone 18 years of age and older to make an appointment with us today to get a comprehensive eye exam if you haven’t done so for more than two years.
This year, IAPB’s theme for World Sight Day is “Love Your Eyes”, which is focused on encouraging individuals to be aware of and take responsibility for one’s own eye health, to get one’s vision examined, and to recommend that others do the same.
Visit the IAPB website today to make a pledge to get your sight tested, learn about how to discuss eye health with children, check out the IAPB’s efforts to bring vision care to those in need, and more!
According to the IAPB, the Four P’s to Love Your Eyes are “Prevent, Protect, Preserve, and Prioritize”.
Prevent: Many eye diseases can be prevented by adopting a healthy lifestyle, including eating healthy and adopting good eye care habits.
Protect: Eye health risks include severe sunlight, workplace accidents, and prolonged exposure to computer and television screens.
Preserve: Undergo comprehensive eye examinations from an eye care practitioner at least once every two years.
Prioritize: Make eye health a priority in your life and educate your family and friends about the importance of healthy vision.
